Yael Inokai was born in 1989 in Basel. She won the 2018 Swiss Literature Prize for her second novel, Mahlstrom. Her third novel, A Simple Intervention , was a finalist for the German Book Prize 2022. It has been translated into five languages. Yael Inokai is a former editor of the magazine Politisch Schreiben. She lives in Berlin.
