Valentijn Hoogenkamp is a Dutch multidisciplinary artist who combines writing and fine art to explore questions of identity and intimacy. After writing ten plays and performing poetry on national and international stages, he wrote his first novel Adoring Louis Claus in 2021. This novel was praised in the national press, nominated for the Anton Wachter Award and published in Germany by Atlantik. Her nonfiction essay Antiboy, a coming-of-gender about her gender transition, was published in 2022 and is currently being translated by Booker Prize winner Michele Hutchinson. Antiboy will be released internationally by Seagull Press in the UK, US and India and by SKUC in Slovenia in 2024.
