Susana Guadalupe Escalante Zurita was born in Villahermosa, Tabasco, in 1985. In August 2014, at the
conclusion of her first novel, self-published as El viaje de los colibríes, she officially began her career
as a writer under the pseudonym Sue Zurita. The independent version of that novel reached more than 70
thousand copies sold, and has been republished by Penguin Random House; however, Sue Zurita
continues her work as an independent writer. Her other works include Buenas noches, desolación
(2015), Cuentos cortos para tardes largas (2018), Aquellos días (2018), Los pájaros que habitan mi corazón
(2020); Tulipanes para no morir de amor (2020) and El mar en tus pupilas (2020). She has participated in outstanding
book fairs, such as the Guadalajara International Book Fair, the Chiapas International Book Fair
Central America and the UNAM Book and Rose Fair, among others, in addition to presenting her books at
Casa Malibrán, in Cuba. In April 2021 he launched his Lectolibri app, with his partner the writer Daniel García
Ramos, where readers can subscribe to read books from the independent catalog of both
writers, as well as classic books, and exclusive content.
