María José Navia is a Chilean writer and academic. She holds a Master's degree in Humanities and Social Thought from New York University and a PhD in Literature and Cultural Studies from Georgetown University. She works as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Some of her latest books include the novel-in-stories Kintsugi and the short story collections Una música futura (2020; winner of the Mejores Obras Literarias competition) and Todo lo que aprendimos de las películas ( 2023; finalist for the Ribera del Duero International Prize). 

He is a book columnist, a corresponding member of the Chilean Academy of Language, and coordinates a book club.

In 2026, he will publish the novel El cielo sobre las nubes(The Sky Above the Clouds).
