JULIETTE DRAGON has been performing since 1993. She started in the South of France as a drag queen in a queer collective, then created her company Le Cabaret des Filles de Joie in 2003, the first new burlesque cabaret company in France, then her Filles de Joie School in 2008, where she taught the disciplines of burlesque striptease as a powerful feminist art therapy to tens of thousands of women in France, Europe, Australia, China and the United States. Stripping to gain self-confidence, to get rid of one's complexes, to free oneself from the dictates of heteropatriarchal urban capitalist society. In 2022, she published her book La Fabrique des Pures Meufs with Harper&Collins, a small punk feminist manifesto where she describes her pedagogy. For the last three years, she has been living between Berlin and Paris.
