On October 31st and November 1st and 2nd we will open our doors to celebrate Day of the Dead for the second time with a collaborative proposal designed and carried out by a series of national and international artists. Among them are Laboratorio 118, La Mixanteña de Santa Cecilia, Minerva Ayón, Machteld Aardse, Jeroen Kriek and many more.
Xantolo is a Day of the Dead celebration typical of the indigenous communities of the Huasteca region. The voice Xantolo (pronounced Chantolo) means in Spanish "of the saints", to denote the feast of all the saints or souls.
In essence, it is a vibrant, colorful and profound celebration that reflects the worldview of life, death and the connection between the two. It is a time to remember and honor the ancestors, believing that the spirits return to live with the living.
